I can’t tell you how frightened I was the other day.
I was driving back home from work and then I realized that I didn’t adjust the temperature control settings for my smart thermostat. As I was pulling into my neighborhood, I slowed down and grabbed my phone. I adjusted the temperature control settings on the smart app really quick and when I looked up there was a dog running out in front of my car! I quickly slammed on the brakes. For a minute I thought maybe I hit the dog because I didn’t see him. But the dog went running to the other side of the street. I don’t know why that dog was just running around the neighborhood like that, but I almost had a heart attack! What if that was a kid that I almost hit, it really made me feel bad. The good news is that I didn’t hit any dogs or any children, but I realized that I can’t mess with my phone like that even if it’s to adjust the temperature control settings for my HVAC system. I swore to myself that I would only do that when I’m not driving and I would make sure not to use my phone for anything else either when I was driving. I don’t want to end up killing somebody or some animal on the road like I almost did with that crazy dog. If I would have hit that dog, I would have felt so bad. It would be hard to get over something terrible like that.
