Avoid the problems of portable air conditioning units and upgrade to HVAC.

I was so excited when I purchased my first home.

The home I purchased needed a lot of updates, but I knew over time I could make this house updated to the standards I wanted.

As I moved into the home, I started making a list and prioritizing all of my upgrade needs. This house was in the southern United States, and as the summer approached, I could tell the cooling system I had would not be sustainable for long term use. Trying to be cost efficient, I found a portable air conditioning unit that I thought would meet my needs. It was only a one story small house, so I did not think I could possibly need anything more than one portable unit. Unfortunately, I quickly learned that even in a small space, I was not getting the air flow that I needed. Some rooms felt comfortable, while other rooms of the house were too hot. Even adjusting the location of the portable unit, there was not a single location that provided the cooling that I needed. In addition to this, the portable unit was more noisy than I wanted, making it more challenging to sleep at night. I knew that I needed to find another solution to my temperature needs for long-term benefit in my new house. After doing research and finding a reputable HVAC company, I decided to have an HVAC unit installed. Although it cost much more than a portable unit, I knew that I would see greater benefits for years to come with this purchase. My house now had great air conditioning, and I was sleeping better than I had since moving there. I am glad the addition of HVAC was the first upgrade I made to my new house.
