Even after a few years of living with my wife there are still a few things that we just don’t see eye to eye on and it can take a long time to come to a resolution.
Most of the time we have been able to resolve these conflicts without a problem, and other times these arguments or disagreements have ended up lasting much longer.
The latest argument that my wife and I have been working through is about what the next steps should be for heating our new home. My preference would be to invest in a standard zoned heating and cooling system similar to what we had at our old place because we have such fond memories of it. My wife on the other hand, well she wants to invest in radiant flooring. After taking a few days to weigh the pros and cons of both HVAC options I have surprisingly started to lean more in her favor. For starters, radiant floors are the more affordable option for us considering our budget, and the coolest thing about radiant floors other than being reliable for decades is the fact that they are an eco friendly option that I don’t feel as guilty about. Sure I won’t be able to keep each room at a different temperature setting like I could with a zoned heating and cooling system, I am still feeling pretty pumped about this new addition to the home. I guess that the classic saying that your wife always knows best is actually true, or at least when it comes to picking the right type of HVAC system.
