Some deceptively small looking appliances can in fact be powerhouses for whatever purpose they were designed for. My favorite example of this will always be the amazing small refrigerator that followed me through all four years of undergraduate college. It was literally a miniature version of a standard fridge and freezer combo. Imagine taking one and just shrinking it down to 40% of its original size. I had a freezer for ice cream and frozen chicken, and a fridge for drinks, eggs, condiments, and left over food. It kept working like a charm until I moved to go to graduate and could no longer take it with me. I gave it to a close friend who claims that it still works like the day I gave it to him. Nowadays, my go to example for good quality appliances in small packages is my window air conditioner in my apartment. It is deceptively small when you first look at it. Most of my friends have the hardest time believing that it is as strong as I say it is. All of that skepticism vanishes once I turn it on and let it run for an hour. It will drop the temperature in my apartment faster than most central air conditioners will in a small house. I can’t imagine using any other air conditioner after owning this powerhouse. It does everything I need it to and more. I don’t even think I would be as satisfied with an extremely energy efficient split system HVAC. I’ll take my small window air conditioner any day of the week. If only this company made larger air conditioners, but they don’t.
