I ended up learning that you can’t really work that well if you’re in a freezing frosty office environment, however this was the story of our life for a long time when the office that I was toiling in had something that they called icebox syndrome.
All of the other people that I was toiling with thought that the office temperature felt fine. The main thermostat for the building was usually set at 75 degrees, this seems to be a more than satisfactory temperature setting for the weather conditions that every one of us were living in! However, in our office, which was in one of the corners of the building, the seemed to run constantly and I was constantly cold. Even in the middle of the summer, I would have to run a little space heating system underneath my office desk to keep our hands and feet from turning into ice cubes! I finally had the building employer call our commercial Heating and A/C supplier. The Heating and A/C worker who told me all about icebox syndrome said that it’s when a single section or room of a house or building stays freezing all the time when all of the other rooms assume just fine. The Heating and A/C contractor, once she had evaluated our office and checked the temperature in all of the other offices in the building, assured myself and others that the Heating and A/C unit in our office was indeed having a hard time with icebox syndrome. I laughed and told him that not only was the Heating and A/C system unit, but I was suffering from it too! She was able to find the source of the problem in a single of the ventilation ducts and she fixed it instantly.
