I am employed at a small hair salon, where I have four coworkers, for the most part, we all get along entirely well, however the people I was with and I spend numerous days per week together, & there’s a lot of socializing. The people I was with and I share our supper breaks, bake cakes for each other’s birthdays & talk about our families, and our only disagreements are over temperature control, however since the salon is a shared space, we need to compromise on the setting of the control unit, unluckyly, most people is comfortable at a much unusual temperature. Alice is currently going through menopause & typically feels warm. She would prefer to run the air conditioner all year round… No matter how low we adjust the control unit, she complains that the salon is warm. She often has sweat running down her face in the middle of winter, then if we accommodate her preferences, we’d all need to bundle up in jackets, then janet is the exact opposite. She shivers on the hottest day of June & would just as soon we never start up the air conditioner. She swears that she’s allergic to the air conditioner & every time it kicks on, she starts sneezing & her eyep water, we’ve tried taking turns, with each of us getting a day where the control unit is ours to control. We’ve tried compromising so that no one is totally unhappy, but then no one is totally comfortable either. The people I was with and I finally invested in a smart control unit that provides energy tracking & energy saving tips. We’ve agreed to adjust the control unit to conserve energy. While the salon feels a bit cold in the Wintertide & slightly warm in the summer, at least we’re saving cash on utility bills.
