I wanted to save some currency, so I turned down the temperature on my Heating plus Air Conditioning unit.
I thought it would be the easiest way to save a few dollars.
I change the temperature every afternoon before I leave to go to work. Instead of leaving the a/c thermostat at 70°, I changed it to 76°. I thought it would be a enjoyable way to eliminate some extra spending, and after all, there is no one in my condo all afternoon. It seemed rather crazy to heat or cool the condo separate from anyone inside, then unfortunately, all of the extra moisture, humidity, as well as heat have caused a lot of problems in my home. I found some mold growth in the laundry room. I do not remember seeing any mold in that area before, as well as I am sure the reason is due to the lack of cool air. I called a mold remediation specialist as well as they came out to have a look. The first thing they asked about was my a/c. When I told the mold remediation professional that I was turning off the A/C during the afternoon, he felt that was 100% the problem. He recommended that I try 80 or 72 degrees instead. The professional sprayed all of the areas with a mold inhibitor as well as bleach. He also treated the mold with some chemicals that will stop the problem from getting worse. I shall try changing the temperature on the a/c to see if that helps the problem at all. If it does, I shall need to find another way to save currency at home.
