Seeking to acclimate to winter with help of HVAC

I love what I do for a living but I’m not a big fan of how often I have had to relocate.

Moving from city to city chasing promotions was once quite exciting when I was much younger.

Having a growing family now, all that moving really takes a toll on those I love the most. With that in mind, I decided to take one last promotion which will land me at the corporate offices. The headquarters of my company is located in the far northern reaches of our country. That meant serious HVAC furnace winter. This was a tough one for me because I come from a Southern background and I just hate winter. But, it was what is best for my family especially with my kids heading toward their middle school years. We are going into our 3rd winter this year and I am still dreading every second of it. The first winter was a blur and I was so overwhelmed getting my arms around my new position that I just accepted that I was freezing. The second winter was even worse. The HVAC furnace ran non stop and I still couldn’t get warm. My wife and kids faired better but they too were struggling with how cold the winter was in our new home. This year will be better, it just has to be. I had a guy come and seal the house up tight to keep the warm air in. I also had the furnace upgraded to a much newer, more efficient model. I swear if it doesn’t feel warmer in our home after all this, I will have to consider moving back south.
