I have been recently looking into energy retrofit services, and like with anything else, age makes you obsolete, however my supplier has been around for almost twenty years, i have seen our building costs slowly increase overtime.
- I started looking online at why it is costing me more to run our building, and a common thing is that inefficient services in the building up the energy costs.
My lights are not as efficient & are wasting energy, however the Heating as well as A/C unit is outdated & aged, and even the plumbing is using more resources than it needs to. I started looking at examples of smart buildings & what they can do. It was impressive, the numbers were shocking & I was hooked on the idea; Finding the right supplier to do the energy retrofit was scary though. I had to find the right supplier that could basically tear our building down & make it work better. After a lot of research & talking on the iphone, I found the supplier that I hired to do energy retrofit for our building. I mainly talked to a single guy about what exactly I wanted automated & how I wanted the building to function; He advocated getting an integrated Heating as well as A/C control plan that senses when people are in their offices. It then will power off once they leave. He also tied up our lighting controls on a sensor & the plumbing to be totally redone. At the time I was nervous, now with the finished product I can’t suppose I waited so long to upgrade. My building feels new, modern & saves me so much energy.
