Happy Thursday to you and I hope you have a good one at that.
- I am just waking up and it is almost 11:30 am already, a far cry from my engineering days in the corporate office with waking to a shocking alarm clock sound at 5:30 am.
I have not woken to an alarm clock in almost 25 years and plan on going another 25 years sans alarm. I’ve been working for myself since leaving the shelter of the corporate world and am so happy I took that chance to do so. Building HVAC equipment was my job when I was an engineer and it was cool at first, but the thrill soon wore off when I discovered how much paperwork and meetings there were to build some simple heat pumps and smart thermostats. I left the world in 1999 and haven’t looked back since. I do some hot water heater installs for people and go to the HVAC company a few times a week in the day to do some inventory and things like that. I just work part time for them, which is enough to pay my bills and give me a little spending money, but other than that I have no plans to climb any corporate ladders anymore. At 56 years old, I have just another six years of work for the heating supplier and then I am going to get some SS benefits and cut back even more on my work as an HVAC professional. I will still dabble in it some but just a couple hours a week.
