Energy Efficiency in your rental

We all care about having heat in the winter, and a/c in the hot summers… No one wants to spend my money high energy bills.

  • High energy bills aren’t a problem if you understand how to keep them low.

There are multiple jobs that people do and do not realize that they are the problem with their high energy bills. The first thing is that you should keep your apartment air tight. Do not leave any windows open or have any leaks! Windows are the most common place to have an air leak. The more air you lose from your house the harder your Heating plus A/C unit works to keep your apartment temperature controlled. The harder the unit works the higher your energy bill costs will be and it’s a waste of money, especially in the winter, make sure all windows are closed and there are no leaks. Natural sunlight can play a large role in your energy costs as well. It is best to keep the sunlight out in the summer. This will keep your house cooler and it is less labor for the Heating plus A/C unit. In the winter you should bring in the sunlight by opening your blinds. This will hot your house and the less labor for the Heating plus A/C unit. These will all reduce your energy bill costs. High energy bills do not always mean that your Heating plus A/C unit is broken. I always call my Heating plus A/C provider if I have any questions or problems. They will know what to do and help you in any case.
