I Now Have a Thermostat

The school I work for underwent a lot of renovations recently, but all the carpet was ripped out & updated, the walls were repainted, & a lot of the classrooms were shifted around! I was once in a small classroom with no window, however after the renovations, I was moved to a larger classroom with windows that let in ample sunlight.

The sunlight, new carpet, & the freshly painted walls have been excellent, however the best feature about my new classroom is the control unit, and my aged classroom didn’t have a control unit, so I could never control the temperature. Add the fact that there were no windows & I was regularly chilly. The walls were brick & it felt like I was underground all the time, even when I wasn’t. The new windows in my classroom have been wonderful because the sunshine adds a lot of natural warmth to the space, and with that however, I find myself getting boiling. Thankfully, I have control over the temperature with my entirely own control unit. The control equipment is mounted right behind my desk, so there’s no risk of any student changing it. The school does have some restrictions about what I can set the temperature as, however I’m delighted to stay within those regulations. Now, I’m never too tepid or too freezing & I’m much more comfortable doing my job. I pity the teacher who had to transport into my aged room with no windows & no control over the temperature. If she sticks it out long enough, maybe she can upgrade after a few years.
