Today is Wednesday and it is pretty quiet in our town as the film crew that was here yesterday is gone and a lot of the tourists that were here yesterday for the nice weather left as well.
Today is kind of gray and cool out and most of the beaches are empty except for a few surfers trying to catch a ride.
We get a lot of surfers here, along with skateboarders and volleyball players, which gives it a sort of European-Cali vibe. I used to live on the coast in Cali and this reminds me of my HVAC tech buddy living over there and the times we used to have playing volleyball on the shore. That was over 30 years ago and I am still somehow playing the sport I love so much. When it is heating up a lot on the beach I now avoid the hot temps and usually am found playing in the evenings when it is cooling down more. The heat gets to me more than it did when I was younger and I just can’t play in that midday heat anymore like I once did. I can still smack the ball though, as my heating tech friend will attest, as we play together quite often when we are not working at the HVAC company. I would love to play another ten years but I am not sure my knees are going to hold out that much longer. I still need my knees for working on air ducts in the commercial buildings where we do HVAC repairs.
