My next-door neighbor’s HVAC units have been giving him trouble for quite some time now. He constantly complains to me about the high cost of repairs, whether it’s the furnace this month or the air conditioner the next. I have told him what he can do to save money on HVAC repairs, but he has ignored my advice. I have no idea how he plans to resolve the issue without taking any action. Once again this month, he was griping about how broken his furnace was and how cold he was because of it. Why didn’t he just have his HVAC system checked out? However, he acted as though my advice to properly maintain his HVAC system was ridiculous, and he told me that the reason he didn’t have an A/C was simply to extort more money from you. I was sick and tired of him ignoring me. He had two choices, either listen or suffer the consequences of neglecting his HVAC system. Since he had already admitted to me that he had never had his HVAC system checked out, I told him straight out that this was the root cause of all of his problems. I told him that he could have avoided future issues with the heating and cooling system if he had just gotten that fixed. I told him to fix his HVAC system and have it serviced, saying that after that he shouldn’t have any more issues. I had to almost chill him to get him to listen, but I know he did because he told me he had never decided to get tune-ups before, but that after the turnips were done, his HVAC system started working perfectly. I tried not to be the person who says “I told you so,” but it was difficult.
