So the HVAC technician was out at my place for a bit longer than normal.
Most of the time, that HVAC professional is just here to do the HVAC maintenance.
When we moved into this house, it came with brand new residential HVAC and a whole lot of cool HVAC technology as well. And as a way to protect our new investment, we joined the HVAC service plan. This is a dedicated HVAC service plan that is centered around HVAC maintenance. So since we’ve been in this house, the HVAC professionals come out in the Fall for the heating maintenance. And then, the HVAC technician comes back out to do the air conditioning tune up that we need each Spring. This is probably the more important HVAC maintenance. The heat pump really doesn’t have much of a load when it comes to the heating demands of our region. But when it comes to Summer, we need a bunch of cooling comfort from the heat pump. The HVAC equipment has been great and very efficient. Yet when it was installed, we were just about a year early when it came to the advent of the smart thermostat. And I’ve wanted one ever since. So this year, I had the HVAC technician install a smart thermostat while he was here to do the air conditioning tune up. I’m so excited to have this new HVAC technology in my home. I know that I’m going to save a bunch on air conditioning costs. But I’m also really ready to turn over the thermostat control to this HVAC technology as well.
