Recently, my internet was completely shut down! There was some sort of severe internet service outage for at least two and a half days in my area! I was furious, because our internet service provider already has a bad reputation when it comes to outages and having poor customer service in general.
I’m entirely intent on getting some sort of compensation for the days we went without the internet.
What made it worse for me is that I had a severe HVAC emergency right around the time that my internet stopped working. This was a problem because I didn’t even have any more gigs of data on my phone to use for the internet either. Furthermore, I couldn’t leave the house because I was alone with my newborn. It was getting really hot, but I didn’t know how to get the number for a good heating and air conditioning company in the area, because I couldn’t go online! Is it that point that I was really wishing that I actually had the yellow pages to look through. You know, that big fat yellow book that your parents used to have that had lists of local businesses with their telephone numbers under different categories. Well, I thought I was done until I happened to be staring at our refrigerator. I realized that I was looking at a business card for an HVAC company that my husband had recently tacked onto the refrigerator with a magnet. I felt like it was a literal godsend! I ecstatically thanked my husband when he got home from work that day, after I had already called out an HVAC technician who fixed the air conditioning, and he wasn’t sure why I was so happy, but he was certainly pleased.
