There have been a lot of times in my life that I have been angry, frustrated, and irate.
Still, this problem really takes the cake. It all started when my boss gave me a new assignment. I never wanted to travel for work, and this assignment has me living abroad for 8 months. I’ve never lived in corporate housing before, and I must say that the full service accommodations are quite nice. All of the rooms are completely furnished. My bedroom had two nightstands, a king-sized bed, and two chests of drawers. The living room had a nice sectional, with a working desk, 55in TV, and lazy boy. Even the bathroom was equipped with everything I needed. The kitchen was filled with pots, pans, dinging equipment and cutlery. The first few months weren’t terrible, but the last few days have been a nightmare. I came home from work yesterday and found most of the apartment under water. The person in the corporate apartment above me, left the house without shutting down the water completely. The bathroom flooded and started to leak into my apartment. All of my things are still covered in water. The place smells like mildew and sewage. I spoke to the manager at the corporate apartments, and she told me that they don’t cover personal belongings. She was apologetic, but offered no real solution to my problem. Now I have to go through my company to get reimbursed for my losses. In the meantime, I have to listen to the sound of five large and clunky dehumidifiers running in my apartment. I’m ready for this job to end.
