Do you tip the people that provide maintenance to you? And I don’t mean the wait staff at a restaurant because tipping is customary in those locales.
- I am talking about tipping someone who performs a maintenance at your home.
Or leaving a tip inside the hotel room for the hotel staff before checking out! Personally, I try to tip anybody who performs a maintenance for me. I tip the person that does our landscaping, I tip the mechanic who fixes our car, and I always tip our Heating, Ventilation, and A/C contractor. Tipping is a wonderful way to show your appreciation for the maintenance that was performed. I remember the really first time I tipped our Heating, Ventilation, and A/C contractor, he was so grateful and thanked me profusely. Perhaps it’s not a respected thing to tip servicemen who perform maintenance in your home. I grew up seeing our dad tip everybody who performed a maintenance for him. And because he tipped so well, those maintenance men remembered him and always extended preferred treatment when he used them again. So, because I l received that from our dad, I always tip those hardlaboring maintenance people who help me out. I suppose our Heating, Ventilation, and A/C contractor goes above and beyond the maintenance that he would normally perform because I give him a tip every time he services our Heating, Ventilation, and A/C unit. And if I schedule a maintenance around the holiday season, I always get him a gift card to a major hardware store in the area. It’s the least I can do for someone who goes above and beyond to make sure that our apartment is always comfortable.
