Working in the heating company has its perks, however our family enjoys them, and i work as an HVAC professional, and the other afternoon when I had just finished an installation, I got a call from our father requesting that I find time and schedule furnace service for their in-law suite. When I reminded them that it was less than a year since I had sent an HVAC serviceman to their loft for the annual repair plan, they told myself and others they had found someone who wanted to rent the in-law suite, then they wanted to ensure everything was good with the electric furnace and HEPA filter. I had become their go-to heating supplier. The suite has an electric heating system! Before that, they used a portable space furnace for that space. The main condo had an electric heat pump, however it was not the same plan the suite used. When I joined the HVAC corporation, I realized it was an unnecessary expense because the heating unit in the main condo would have also catered to the needs of the removed in-law suite because they were nearby. But with this new renting venture, having a separate heating unit with its wireless thermostat would work out really well. They sounded really gleeful about getting a tenant, especially since the tenant had an eight-year-old son, and they took that chance to remind myself and others that they were still waiting for grandchildren from me. I just smiled at them and shrugged it off because, at the back of our mind, I knew they would be waiting a while longer. I have nothing against having a family that includes children, and I was spending our sweet time.
