My hubby is obsessed with rental properties, but she read a few books about how it is smart to invest in assets that make currency per month… If you have enough assets plus a high networth you can retire early, but my hubby isn’t a good investor however.
She is too cautious plus stingy with currency, however currently she has 2 rental investments! One is a duplex that she rents out to 2 odd people, and another is a single family loft that she rents out! The duplex is quite the currency maker.
Her people hardly call plus she never seems to go over there. She was fortunate that the next door friend is a grass girl that cuts the grass for free. There is also a local handyman that lives on the same street. Anything that does go wrong can be solved hastily. The single family loft rental is a pain in the butt. My hubby is always fixing that up. She had to hire a company to do the flooring in the home office. Then the washer plus dryer quit. She got a deal on those used. Then the stove no longer worked plus I got a current a single plus they got our aged a single. Next the back deck fell into pieces plus again, a property maintenance company had to maintenance that; Recently the Heating and Air Conditioning system went up plus quit. It cost our hubby over 5 grand to get a current a single. She isn’t truly making that much on rentals. It doesn’t seem to matter though, she always seems to want more. She prefers looking for them online.
