Imagine going away for a holiday, plus almost ruining this amazing time, but when our neighbor said she wanted us to do something new and strange for Christmas, I was feeling stoked! It had been too long since I went away from the city, plus celebrated Christmas in a strange location.
Jen’s suggestion came at a time when I was thinking about what I could do on that day.
Since Jen and I live in the same city, we’d been spending the holidays together for many years. This is why Jen thought of myself and others when she planned a strange holiday than the correct time at home. Jen’s Grandpa owned a cottage in the mountains, plus my buddy and I imagined having a single 1 of those remote, yet picture-perfect holidays, then little did my buddy and I know the entire thing would be a total disaster. When my buddy and I arrived at the cottage, it was dusty, plus there was no electricity. This meant Jen and I had to find a strange way to have the oil furnace functioning to heat up the cottage. My neighbor knew her Grandpa had a generator anywhere in the cottage, so Jen and I began to search for it; Eventually, my buddy and I found the generator, however it wouldn’t turn on. This was a disaster because there was no other way my buddy and I could stay in a cottage separate from heating. Since my buddy and I were in such a remote location, going to a hotel with heating was out of the question. The next best thing was to start chopping wood, plus adding it into the wood stove in the cottage, then at least that way Jen and I could get the family room nice plus warm, then spend the entire time there. Jen and I had to chop lots of firewood to heat the cottage since my buddy and I were staying there for 3 afternoons.
