Today I am a very happy woman.
In the course of my normal daily events, I managed to secure a freelance job.
It pays very well, has some interesting benefits, and combines my skill set with my greatest passion – cannabis. I was in the dispensary, because I always go there on my way home from work on Friday evening, getting my supply of buds and oils. I am a daily cannabis smoker, and have been since high school. As I was checking out, I heard the manager talking about their new smokers lounge, and how they would need a custom ventilation system to meet the legal requirements. I am an HVAC tech during the day, so this was right up my alley! This was a privately owned and operated place, on a limited budget, so I had a private talk about exchanging goods and services for my HVAC work. I could do the work myself, if he paid for all the materials I would need to upgrade the ventilation system. Only working at night when the dispensary was closed, I could have the ventilation system done in a week. At that point I would need payment in the form of cannabis, and not only that, but I wanted a permanent employee discount for all future purchases. I literally brokered a deal trading HVAC work for cannabis, and I have never been more pleased with myself. In the future I will provide all needed upkeep for the ventilation system, because I go in there so often anyway it won’t even be a chore.
