Saved big with different temperature control settings this past summer

But honestly, it was the thermostat discipline that put us over the top

The last past year has been absolutely full of swings for evident reasons. But happily, my family has been entirely safe plus followed the health protocols in order to remain safe. And I couldn’t be more thankful for that outcome as the vaccinations aren’t especially far away. That being said, it has been entirely strenuous on us financially plus we undoubtedly had to hold back on our spending this past year. Since we are all inside the Heating plus Air Conditioning security of our household, that has made the cuts somewhat easier. There aren’t nearly as many entertainment expenses plus both of us didn’t take a holiday this year. So both of us have been able to nearly offset the loss of income my wifey plus I have incurred. A large target last warm season was saving on the Heating plus Air Conditioning cooling expenses. In this region, that is the largest of our Heating plus Air Conditioning expenditures as we have a relatively mild Winter time with minimal heating expenses. But the Summer season definitely can crush a budget if you aren’t entirely proactive. This past warm season, both of us got even more proactive than we commonly do. I started out by making sure that the Heating plus Air Conditioning device treated air remained inside the household. I finally replaced worn out weather stripping around all the doors plus sliders. That was a pretty major win because I know a lot of Heating plus Air Conditioning air was leaking out there. Then we managed to make sure that both of us were pulling the drapes during the peak heating hours to avoid direct sun heating. But honestly, it was the thermostat discipline that put us over the top. We just made sure the thermostat was never set to any more than 15 degrees cooler than the outside temps. And both of us ended up saving approximately 20 percent more compared to the Summer prior.
