My wife and I moved out of state several months ago. We rented a house without seeing the property first. My wife and I signed the lease and in the lease we agreed to pay for all HVAC repairs that needed to be performed while we were living on the property. The owner gave us a copy of an HVAC service appointment that was performed the week before we signed the lease and everything looked good. My wife and I thought about the rental property with a great deal, until we got here and realized the place is a dump. It’s not even in a great neighborhood like we hoped. The pictures must have been from two or three years ago, because the place barely resembled the photographs that the owner sent in an email. We were only in the house for a couple of weeks when we started to have problems with the air conditioner. Late one night the cold air stopped flowing. It got warmer and warmer and it was 80 degrees inside the house at 3 in the morning. My wife wanted to call someone to help, but we didn’t know who to call in the event of an emergency. We spent an hour just trying to find someone close with good reviews and decent prices. It was one of the worst experiences.
