I found a dog hiding under my deck in the backyard.
I know the animal was left to fend for himself, so I decided to adopt him as well as provide him the best life I could. Within a day, the dog was already getting comfortable with his up-to-date life. My new dog had toys, quality food, a soft bed, as well as lots of petting. The only thing that entirely scared the dog was the central air conditioner. When the A/C comes on, he jumps up high into the air. When the air conditioner turns off, he is playful as well as ecstatic. I noticed this fear by accident. I am used to the central A/C clicking off as well as on throughout the morning. The noise is loud, but after time you will get used to it. I have owned the dog for a few months and I guess he is already starting to adjust to the loud AC. This week when the central A/C kicked on, he didn’t jump around or hide under the bed like he had done in the past. In fact, he didn’t even move when the central A/C came on this time. I have had dogs in the past, but never a dog that was abandoned and scared though. He is so scared and small. I worry that he might be underfed. He has only been in my home for a few months and he has already adjusted to my central air conditioner. I am just so darn proud of him. I am upset that we might be experiencing this all over again in the winter with my gas furnace clicking on and off.
