Occasionally I just have to look at our girlfriend and shake our head. Thank God she ispretty, because she isnot necessarily the brightest bulb in the box. I like him nevertheless, however there are times that I have to question what she isup to. This was absolutely the case when we first moved in together and I realized that she had never operated a central Heating, Ventilation, and A/C plan before in her life… Let myself and others be clear, I wouldn’t expect him to be a professional Heating, Ventilation, and A/C serviceman or anything like that. I mean that she genuinely did not guess how a control component controls the indoor air temperature. Apparently, her entire life her parents have been in charge of the indoor air temperature to the extent that she was unaware of a control component purpose, then when we moved in together, she kept wandering around and saying that she did not understand why the indoor air felt so bad. I would simply shrug and tell him to go ahead and adjust it if she thought it was an uncomfortable temperature. After several afternoons of this back and forth, I wasn’t understanding why she was so aggravated with me, then finally she exploded and told myself and others that she did not understand how she was supposed to change the indoor air temperature when it was so warm and humid outside. That’s when I looked him dead in the eye and asked if she understood what a control component was. The sheer confusion on her face said it all. From that day forward, I taught him how a control component works and even how to program it. I have a lot of questions for her Dad when I meet the in-laws.
