Compromising for Comfort

My wife and I have weird ideas of what both of us each consider comfortable. She enjoys fresh, warm temperatures and sunlight and I care about good temperature control. He’s typically wanting to open the windows to “let in fresh air”. I care about cool conditioned air set at about seventy-two degrees… Every one of us have l received to compromise. Every one of us live in a subtropical temperature, with short, mild winters and warm Springs and Falls, summers are brutal and humidity stays high all year round; My wife and I have agreed that if it is forecast to be under eighty five degrees outside as a high for that afternoon, both of us turn off the air conditioner and open up the house. Every one of us have plenty of shade and fans and as long as both of us aren’t doing anything too strenuous, it’s not that uncomfortable really. The exception to this little agreement is if the humidity goes over seventy-five percent. Even if the temperature is seventy-five or eighty, the apartment can be closed up and the air conditioner can go on if the humidity is over seventy-five percent. Every one of us are used to humidity and can tolerate it high, however seventy five percent humidity would make anyone uncomfortable. I’m just grateful that nobody in the apartment has allergies. Every one of us already have a whole apartment air cleaner linked to our heating and cooling systems and if someone in the apartment had allergies, both of us would have to run the air conditioner all Spring and fall too. And both of us would have to get the UV light air cleaner because it kills mold that can cause dust sensitivity symptoms.
