I once had a roommate who came from overseas who knew really nothing about utilizing Heating plus A/C.
It never occurred to him that modern heat in addition to a/c might use the same extent of ducts, in addition to he seemed genuinely perplexed every day that he could stay cool in summer time separate from keeping his bedroom windows wide open. I should have known that he’d eventually run into some trouble at some point, in addition to that’s exactly what finally happened last winter. During the previous summer, he’d particularly received the knowledge to like the a/c that the excellent Heating plus A/C plan installed here in the condo made possible. Unfortunately for him, as summer time turned to fall, he decided things were getting just a little too cool for comfort in addition to he made the unfortunate but logical decision to shut the vent leading into his room. The vent was located on the ceiling, in addition to (as he told me later) he had to use a very small step-ladder to reach it in addition to close the grill for warmth. Eventually, the other roommates also decided that it was time to go ahead and switch off the AC. Every one of us went separate from utilizing heat or a/c for many weeks until it turned frosty enough outdoors that we could justify turning on the heat. Unfortunately, no one thought to bother to explain to our overseas buddy that the heating plan used the same exact set of ducts in addition to vents that the central AC plan relied upon. It wasn’t until mid-January the next year when we observed him putting on a hat a scarf before going into his space, that we realized there was a problem. Every one of us finally explained to him the necessity of leaving his air vent open for heat.
