I was shocked to see an ad in my newspaper for a Heating, Ventilation, and A/C corporation. It said that the supplier was holding a brand new campaign for Heating, Ventilation, and A/C specialists. The ad read that this company was looking for a few superb ladies for their specialists. I thought it was a joke and I could not keep from calling about the ad. When I was twenty I had taken the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C certification course, and I passed the course plus I graduated at the top of the class. After I had my certification, I found it hard landing a full time job. It seemed that nobody was interested in hiring a 5’2” petite blonde to specialize in heating systems and air conditioning units. I grew up with 6 other siblings and I was the smallest. If I wanted to do anything fun, it was with everyone else. I had no problem becoming dirty since every one of us used to play pigskin in the rain. Some people couldn’t understand this and most of them assumed there was something wrong since I was a Heating, Ventilation, and A/C specialist. When the telephone was answered I told the woman that I was calling about their ad in the newspaper. I was given a date and time for an interview and I was asked to bring my certification and college transcripts. I couldn’t suppose it was that simple. When I arrived at the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C corporation, things became clear. Everyone who was working there was a woman. The supplier was attempting to hire nothing but woman for a stronger workforce.
