I had a face palm moment earlier today.
All because of my HEPA air filter.
Let me go back a bit. So a few days ago, I noticed there was reduced efficiency with my air conditioning system. The cooling machine was still working, but it was taking progressively longer and longer to cool my home as it should be. It also started making a strange noise, which was concerning. I really needed my air conditioning machine to be working as efficiently as possible, because we are in the midst of summer, and the temperatures outside are incredibly heated. Well, I am no HVAC specialist, and so I decided the smart thing to do would be to call one of the professional heating and cooling workers out here to repair the problem. I called and scheduled an appointment, and the cooling professional was able to come out the next day. When the A/C worker did come out, he didn’t have to do any repairs at all. Why? Because the problem was my HEPA air filter, I had completely forgotten to change out the A/C filter. The filter was understandably clogged and causing issues. I can’t believe I forgot such a vital part of taking care of the A/C equipment. I’m sure the A/C repairman was thinking I was a moron. Thankfully, after a filter change, my heater and air conditioner was back to working like new, and combating the overheated temperatures. I will not be making that mistake again, even if I have to set reminders on my phone about the air filters.
