Doing a youth fitness class for my middle school football team

I am a middle school football coach and my team is extremely out of shape.

During the school year I bust their butts with drills.

I have the boys working on cardio all the time. Every now and then I will let them earn going to the weight room to lift. Most of the time I just try to get the boys in decent shape. It is amazing how lazy kids are now. I think technology has really affected the athleticism in today’s children. I am not equipped to handle getting them in shape either. I have started talking with a personal training center that offers youth fitness programs. Over the summer I am going to have my team go to the training center two days a week for an hour. They can do a group fitness class that then turns into small group workouts based on position. The personal trainer that will work with them is perfect. The trainer is a pretty woman in her early twenties. My pre-teen boys are going to love her. I think they will all burst into gear and want to impress her. I don’t think they will want to fail, give up or do an exercise wrong with her watching. She also seems like she will be a lot of fun and come up with good exercises for the boys. I hope this turns into a good thing and that our team gets in shape. At the very least, I hope the boys have fun and build a rapport with one another.
