Enrolling in a furnace maintenance plan

When I relocated across the country, it took quite a while to get settled.

Although I moved into a beautiful job and started a great job at higher pay, it was difficult making friends and learning to navigate the area.

I had no idea where to go to have my car serviced, buy groceries or get a haircut. I needed to find a new doctor, a dentist and a pharmacy. One of my major concerns was determining a reputable HVAC company. I’d moved from the southern part of the country to the north, and the weather was completely different than what I was familiar with. I went from having an air conditioner and no heating system in the house to having a furnace and no air conditioner. I had no clue how to take care of or operate a gas furnace. I worried about carbon monoxide poisoning and pipes freezing. I wanted to have the heating system professionally inspected and to enroll in a yearly maintenance plan. I read all sorts of customer reviews and looked into the qualifications of the local HVAC companies. I made sure to choose a provider that maintains an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau as well as proper licensing and insurance. The technicians are all NATE- and EPA-certified and the company is a Factory Authorized Dealer. Their maintenance plans include priority scheduling, 15% discount on replacement parts and no fees for overtime emergency service. I was pleased when the technician showed up for the service appointment right on time and dressed in uniform. He was friendly, informative and wore protective coverings over his shoes to avoid tracking across my carpet. He explained how to change the air filter and recommended an upgrade to the old thermostat.
