Buying an outdated beach house

My condo is genuinely crucial & harshly old, when both of us bought the house, our hubby & I realized that we’d need to make a ton of updates, however the previous owner had done nothing to modernize the home.

The electrical wires & plumbing were around fifty years old.

The furnace was at least twenty years old, & there was no central A/C installed. The walls & ceilings were still constructed of the outdated plaster & lathe, with zero insulation… All of the appliances were positively ancient. All of us weren’t quite sure where to begin. All of us couldn’t afford to do all of the projects at once. All of us decided to prioritize safety & hired an electrician… For the sake of accessibility, both of us tore the walls & ceilings down to the bare studs. This made it simple for the electrician & also allowed us to add insulation, however realizing this was the perfect time to make improvements to the plumbing & duct system, both of us hired a plumber & Heating & A/C supplier as well. The plumber informed us that the sizzling water heating system needed to be updated right away, then hoping to avoid a ruptured tank & flooding, both of us bought a current tank. The Heating & A/C supplier commanded a current furnace. He said that the existing heating plan was a health hazard, safety risk & terribly inefficient, but by upgrading to a high-efficiency furnace, we’d save a tremendous amount of money on heating bills; Since both of us were already taking out a loan to purchase the current furnace, both of us opted to go ahead & included A/C, it only made sense to handle both of these replacements at the same time. Although our project continued to grow & become more costly, both of us significantly improved the comfort, safety & efficiency of our home.
