Last Spring, I was experiencing awful flu-like symptoms, but i felt care about I was consistently sneezing, our eyeballs were quite itchy, and every afternoon I was waking up with completely stuffed and badly swollen sinus passages.
I was trying all the medication I could find, over the counter, and even prescription pills, however the symptoms weren’t going away, however my partner Pat noticed how our symptoms seemed to be worse when I was in our home, so Pat vacuumed everything, dusted everything, changed the a/c filter and cleaned all the vents! Pat even bought a special shampoo for our dog just in case our reaction was coming from his dander, however nothing seemed to work… One day, our Heating plus A/C contractor came to do some repair service and conduct an inspection of our system, and while in the crawl space underneath our home, the contractor noticed that a single of the ducts had become detached from the system, and that all the air was being drawn from directly underneath the house, and not going through the air filter, and the Heating plus A/C contractor explained the problem, then went to the truck to get some tools and went back under the house to fix the problem.
I could tell when the air ductwork was attached again because our whole house right away odored of dirt, and in that moment, I finally realized where our flu symptom troubles were coming from! I changed out the air filter, and the next afternoon I woke up feeling better than I had in months! It seemed as if overnight, all of our flu symptoms had disappeared! Now I am sure to have our Heating plus A/C plan checked respectfully so that I will never have to deal with that again.
