I was thrilled to attend my 10 year private school reunion! I still kept in touch with many of my private school friends, in addition to we had all decided to go together. This was to ease the awkwardness of seeing old prom dates, classmates, in addition to instructors, but my private school is in a climate that is chilly most of the year. Then well, at least compared to my up-to-date climate, which is warm year-round, then after I graduated, my parents moved somewhere warmer, I went to school in the south, in addition to after completing several degrees, I decided that I wanted to stay… So, you can only imagine my surprise when I left the airport, still dressed for my sunny weather back home, in addition to realizing that I was completely underdressed for the cold! Fast-forward to the reunion. My friends and I walked to the gym together… I was still frosty in the outside air, and the gym wasn’t much warmer! I had to find a heating vent… I walked along the walls until I found a spot where warm air was blowing down into the gym. I stood under the stream of heated air, in addition to silently praying to the gas furnace gods. My friends joined me with cocktails in addition to pretzels, in addition to asking me what my concern was. I told them how chilly it was here! I asked if any of them knew where the gym thermostat was, in addition to laughing. “This place has been drafty since the early 60s,” two of my friends said. “Yeah, the heating idea hasn’t been replaced since our parents went here,” chimed another… Luckily, a single of my companions had an extra jacket in his car, so I put that on in addition to eventually warming up. While the reunion was awesome, I couldn’t wait to get back to the sunny south!
