What started off as a seemingly super simple task snowballed into something that took up our entire Friday the other day… when my fiance and I recently moved into a new site, and the two of us simply wanted to have some people over for a housewarming shindig.
Now, in the days leading up to it, the two of us observed the site was getting warmer outdoors, however since it was so temperate outside it wasn’t a big deal, but then the usual weather got warmer, more humid, and then the disparity became absolutely too noticeable and the two of us realized there was entirely something very wrong with the a/c, then every one of us caught what I thought was an absolutely lucky break for us, and it turned out the only problem was that the air filter had simply become jammed up.
Every one of us checked the date on the side of the old air filter and learned that it had been in that system for well over a year. Now, it was the kind that needed change more properly, then once the two of us pulled the whole air filter from the system, the airflow returned to normal and the home started to rapidly cool down. The only problem with the a/c was the filter, so I went out Friday morning to get a new single filter before the party that evening. It turns out that this system is absolutely old and nasty, and uses a custom made air filter sold only by the Heating and A/C business. You know, I could order a single online, but I didn’t have time to wait for this air filter, I really needed it the same morning! Long story short I spend days driving around town looking for a stupid custom air filter.
