Waiting in line…

I promised to take our granddaughter to the amusement park In town.

The people I was with and I had all planned out everything except for the time waiting in line in the blazing sun and humidity.

The people I was with and I stood in line for nearly 2 hours and I didn’t even guess it was moving. Jamie kept telling me that it was too dang hot to sit out in the sun. As much as he wanted to go in the fun haunted house, he didn’t want to be outside anymore. His skin was increasingly dry and bright red. There was a restaurant located around the corner from the haunted cabin so every one of us eventually stepped out of line and headed over to the restaurant. Whenever every one of us got inside, I couldn’t think how beautiful the modern a/c felt. My granddaughter found a booth that was away from the bright window and every one of us sat down. The air vent was directly overhead and he was closing his eyeah as he felt the AC blowing straight down onto his skin. She was losing the redness in his skin and her eyes finally were becoming clearer. It took the waitress almost twenty minutes to come take our small order and never once did she complain. We sat for about an hour and she was laughing and telling me all about his friends. Whenever our meal was over he asked me if every one of us could please go home. Apparently he would rather go cabin with me where every one of us could have some a/c. I agreed. I had never heard sweeter words come out of his mouth.
