Why the fireplace is not practical in the city with central heating

When I finally got my own home, I had so many things in mind that would turn it from a mere house to a home.

Among these was a cozy fireplace but when I mentioned it to my friends and family, they were all so unimpressed.

A quick survey among some of my acquaintances that live in condos and apartments revealed that having a fireplace was not in their current or future cards. Among the reasons I was given for this was that it could not be used as a primary source of heating the house. This means that I would have to use it alongside an electric furnace tucked away in the basement of the house, but this may be expensive for me. Any homeowner will have to do this alongside adding insulation in the house, putting up storm windows and continually having their thermostat on a timer to maximize and ensure energy efficiency in the home. The same can be said about having a gas fireplace as well. Central air conditioning entails a primary source like a furnace which supplies the heat. Oil, gas, a combination of the two and electricity are the main fuel sources used on an indoor air cleaning system and burnt in a boiler. In eco-friendly places, an electric heat pump can help as well. When thinking of central air conditioning, you should think about its size, boiler installation, a/c care, heat and a/c products and whether it has a dial thermostat or digital thermostat. You should also consider the king of a/c care plan from your provider you can have access to service your central heater 24/7.
