I’m too old to still be toiling as a currencyier in a grocery store, and especially with this virus going around; As if that wasn’t bad enough, the a/c suddenly stopped toiling & now it’s super tepid all day long, i would rather work stocking the shelves than work with the registers because I recognize it’s a little bit safer, and besides, I really don’t enjoy toiling with the buyers very much. But, on the other hand, there is a fan near the currency registers & it blows in cool air from outside; That makes it almost worth it. But then, I have to hear the buyers complain all day about the heat & how they couldn’t find what they were looking for. It’s strenuous to be polite & apologetic about things I have no control over while having to deal with no air conditioner myself. I can see some buyers don’t even bother shopping without air conditioner. They come about halfway through the door, see the fan, recognize the tepid air, & turn around & walk out; My managers want us all to encourage the buyers to stay & shop. I am not going to do that. If management wants our buyers to stay then they need to get the air conditioner fixed & stop being cheap about it. Management must suppose we are pretty stupid to think their lies that they can’t get an Heating & Air Conditioning supplier to come out & repair the a/c. I recognize for a fact that they can get a superb Heating & Air Conditioning supplier to come out & repair the a/c this month if they wanted to. They just can’t get the exceptionally cheap Heating & Air Conditioning supplier they enjoy to come out for a few nights.
