Snow in Summer brings out furnace problem

I don’t want to take any chances with our harsh winters.

This far north we only get a few months of warm weather and then it’s back to freezing cold once again. We have a window air conditioning unit and we install it when the summer weeks are approaching. Then we take it back out again just as the leaves start to turn. We really only use the window air conditioner for a few nights if the temperature gets into the high 70s. Well it’s August right now and I already had to remove our air conditioner and turn on the furnace because, I can’t believe it but, it’s snowing! The kids got out their snow gear and sleds and they’re playing in the snow in the middle of August.I, on the other hand, was content to stay inside with the furnace on. However, after a few hours of the furnace running, it started making a strange noise whenever it would kick on. I started worrying about the winter to come with a with our furnace making noises like that. Thankfully, the next day it warmed up once again. Still, I decided to call out our furnace repairman to take a look at it. I don’t want to take any chances with our harsh winters. In a way, I’m glad for the summer snow day because it let me know about my furnace issues before it became an emergency situation. I just hope this doesn’t end up costing us too much. I’m also debating if I should put the window air conditioner back in or not. After all, tomorrow it could be snowing or it could be 80°.
