I can remember those great days when I was growing up, and how things were much different.
- In a larger sense, much simpler as well.
Take a/c for instance, and most people did not have a central heating and a/c system in those days. It was a gas furnace for the Winter time and a window a/c plan for the summer. When your window a/c plan would break down, you didn’t have to call the local heating and a/c dealership to send out a certified heating and a/c specialist to repair your a/c unit! You would just remove the window a/c out of the window which depending on the size could have been straight-forward or hard. And then you could bring it to a local electronics repair shop. That would be it! No spending tons of money on heating and cooling repair like we have today when dealing with central a/c, then from our memory, it cost a fraction of the price of today’s a/c repairs. And that is even converting the value of the dollar from years ago to today, however all in all I have to say that the seasoned ways of heating and cooling your lakeside house was way better and cheaper in our opinion. If there was a way that I could go back to that style these days I would in an hour. But the only issue with that is the electronic repair shops that are still around today are not the same as way back when. They would not even recognize about fixing a window a/c unit.
